When I use the word wanderlust, I mean it. I have a massive heart for California, strong longing for palm trees, to constantly feel sand beneath my toes, and love to feel salt in my hair + the air. If you read my previous post a “Memory Lane in Cali – San Diego Review Part I”, (click here) then you know full and well, I am a huge fan of this state and SD in particular.
Not only do I enjoy traveling (who doesn’t), but planning, and collaborating with creatives. And while visiting the sunshine state, it felt a bit like magic for C + M. This little collab in particular left me longing even more to live near the sea, run on the beach and smell the salt filled air in the morning, I could definitely get used to seeing those palm trees and cliffs in the background every day too.
Michelle Lillywhite, (be sure to visit her site, she is so talented and has the dearest soul) and I went out exploring very early one morning. And if I had known while standing on this very cliff, we would watch a pod of dolphins jumping in the distance, I would have spent the night right there just to witness that very thing. Which is the reason why I feel so tied to this post. That moment made everything feel dreamy and truly wanderlust worthy. I immediately googled the meaning of dolphins crossing your path: It is a message of joyful play. Dolphins are in total harmony with their environment, and practice love for each other. They are always helping the young, the sick, and even crossing inter species boundaries to provide guidance, healing and companionship.” Perfect way to start our little photo session.
Feeling in total harmony with this beautiful sea setting, this tribal set seemed fitting for a beach shoot. A flowy printed two piece set paired with a simple white Calvin Klein tank, Janessa Leone hat, and my favorite aviators to keep my look simple and beachy. The elegant jewels pictured are courtesy of Hardt Jewelry, all hand-made by Anne Hardt, one of our very own Minnesota makers.
