Love and Lace

I love lace, I love California, and I love succulents. It’s the place where I met my husband, the sunshine agrees with me, the ocean is a piece of my heart, and San Diego is the place where we were married = LOVE! When Michelle and I set out to capture the essence of California we started driving around in the most quaint of neighborhoods and we happened upon two miracles…an entire succulent wall just growing in an alley along with the most beautiful Bougainvillea.

Each return to California I get butterflies upon landing. I feel like my 22-year-old self post-college graduation, bright-eyed and ready to tackle the world. Wish I could go back and talk to her then. Tell her that everything would work out and that worrying is just going to result in grey hairs and wrinkles. So much easier said than done isn’t it?…Returning in my thirty’s, exactly ten years later I don’t even recognize that girl. Amazing how we can grow and change in such a short amount of time. Learn to love ourselves in a way that we never knew possible.

While we were visiting San Diego I connected with Michelle Liillywhite and we had such a fun time running around taking advantage of the early morning light. This dress screamed Cali to me (trust me I won’t be wearing it in Minne anytime soon).
