H E L L O 2015 | DIY + INSPIRATION DETAILS
Enjoy an intimate evening ringing in the new year with friends while surrounded by all your favorite things, Gold Pears, Pineapples, Glitter, Poodles, Tiaras and let’s not forget the most important of them all – the bubbles! The evening was planned with a classic but sparkling affair, giving your guests a night to remember finished with desserts and champagne cocktails. The inspiration was centered on the color scheme gold, white, rose, and crème with tiny accents of color.
DIY Projects included spray painting a felt green runner from target that cost a mere $10.00, to a beautiful gold tone, sprinkled with glitter. The runner was the perfect touch to dress up the table.
The calling card for this event was an invitation pre-printed from Targets selection of elegant party invitations. To add a special touch, we adhered the invitations to gold glitter wrapping paper purchased at the Paperista.
The ladies will be given DIY made crowns that were taken from the kids party bin selection of Target and spray painted a nice matte gold (only $2.00 each) The party horns were a bright polka dot also from Target and were given a spray of gold then sprinkled with glitter, and placed at each place setting for guests to ring in the start to a new year with a bang.
The banner displaying the sparkling words “Cheers” set the attitude of the evening that guests should sit back and enjoy their night. The banner was created using a pre-made Kraft banner from Target’s party section, we sprayed the Kraft shapes with gold spray paint, allowed it to dry then strung it and added gold puffed letters also from Target to spell out “CHEERS”. The sparklers were found at Target and we gave those a nice little gold shine and laid them in a bag for guests to take when the clock strikes midnight.
Our favorite accessories for the evening are the gold pineapples. Real pineapples! We sprayed these using a 14K gold spray paint that made each one look just fabulous and a perfect focal point for the event. Pineapples have been known as an offering of welcoming guests and of all nights we want them to welcome in a new start to a fresh beginning!
Guests will be greeted upon entry to the evening with a glass of Rose Champagne, each decorated with a plump blackberry to give it a little something extra. The cocktail station was fixed with adorable printed straws found at Target, and let guests know it’s okay to enjoy plenty of bubbles tonight!
The Flowers – where do we start – the low lying arrangement was the perfect focal point for the table created low to allow for ease in discussion and laughter throughout the night. Using black Baccara roses, antique white, white, and a soft blush tones, we took magnolia leaves and gave them a little touch of gold to tie the theme of the night throughout the party. Balloons were scattered around the dinner room floor as a way to bring more color and fun into the event!
