I love birthday’s. Have always loved birthdays. When I moved out of my parent’s house and realized for the first time that not everyone celebrated the way that we did, it was a mind blow. Our birthday’s were real and you felt like it was a day dedicated completely to you, filled with cake, balloons, some sort of glitter. A real party.
We like to celebrate every little thing. The optimist in me likes that.
Lately life has felt so fragile to me. 2014 was a rough year of losing people I loved, and left me with the need to live every minute to the fullest. I try to remember the feelings that rushed through me when I heard each one of them had left this earth. That is a feeling I try to keep close to my heart and also keep my perspective in check.
And perhaps it will get old, or the shine on that “celebrate” attitude will dull with time, but for today…we party. Turning one year older is something I will choose to celebrate. For now enjoy these adorable photos filled with a few of my favorite things!
P.S. I hope you feel inspired to celebrate something, be it small, big, irrelevant, whatever it may be…

Oh, Tam! I’m so sorry you are having to go through this again. I wanted you to know how much I appreciate your openness and honesty in sharing this. Sometimes we don’t get to see the ways that God will use the bad things that In our lives for good, so I wanted to share with you that, despite my phobia about mammograms(which I’ve been putting off) I go for mine this afternoon. I’m sure this is only one of many good things that will come from your story. Thank you! I’ll be waiting to hear a good report from you! Love you!
