Kicking off summer at the lake is my happy place. Long weekends spent by the campfire and dockside lounging, is where I would like to be every single weekend if it was possible. Something about the water and the slow pace of life up north that leaves me feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
As we drove back into the city last night I watched my sleeping fur babies, my husband holding my hand, and listened to the radio while the sun set over the downtown buildings. Amazing how such a short drive away from the hustle and bustle of a downtown view lies another world untouched by the busy sounds and lights.
I love living in both worlds. A city life and a lake life. The latter being one that requires no showers and bare feet, where anything goes. With a chill in the air and a few rain showers running around in overalls and blankets was a requirement. I am a definite sun seeker but it was a cozy and casual weekend and I can’t wait to get back to it soon.
