Coronado Island a 3 Hour Day Trip + Fighting off last day vacation blues

We made it back and I am still dreaming of our little day getaway to Coronado Island. While staying in San Diego we had a very diverse trip (full review to come on SD next) but on our last day we had no plans and a limited schedule leaving a few hours to kill before it was time to pack up and start our dreaded trip to the airport.

Do you ever find that feeling of leaving and having to say goodbye starts kicking in the minute you wake up on your last day of vacation? I felt it start to creep into our little hotel room as we were kicking off the day, and I said we aren’t going to let that feeling win. We are going to enjoy every last little minute of the day, and we did.

With that mindset we grabbed two coffees a few waters and headed out to Coronado. The trip is a quick Uber ride from downtown to the Island (took us 12 minutes and cost $12.00). The drive takes you over the famous sky high bridge, just don’t look if you have a few of heights or better yet take a water taxi.

We jumped out and off we went walking around. A bike rental  sounded like it would do the trick to help cover major grounds in a few hours. So we headed to Holland’s Bicycles (great service and so quick) picked out two cruisers, and started to tour the island. I would highly recommend biking, it was $8.00 an hour or $20 for half a day, and we were able to do and see so much more in little time.

We were sure to stop at the beach (rated one of the top ten beaches in the U.S.) so clean and white sand for days,  grabbed ice cream at Moo Time Creamery , walked around to the shops. Took in the lovely floral smells at the Coronado Flower Lady’s stand, and passed numerous cafes. and shops. Such a fun way to spend the day (or a few hours).  Enjoy!

I love Coronado! When we lived in Arizona, we drove there a couple times and were able to stay on the military base (which saved lots of money). I miss it! Oh, and I am seriously looooving your off-the-shoulder top you wore!
