I can't get enough of this tablescape. Honestly, how many times have you seen me set this table over the years? This tabletop is hands down my all time favorite. There isn't anything quite like the feeling of springtime. Fresh flowers and cherry blossoms blooming. It is a season filled with fresh beginnings and in our family loads of entertaining! Spring has always been very close to my heart.
I half wrote an update at four and five months to share but never could seem to hit publish. Lately, I feel like that has been our story over here. Life is full on busy and active with our new six-month-old, and I find myself wishing I had a little more time to do everything but also wishing it would just stand still. Motherhood is strange like that. Please go to bed, but wait I miss you while you are sleeping. I know it won't get any easier either.
When I look back in 2018, it is hard to not feel every emotion in the book — a year filled with highs and lows and everything in between. A year that has forever changed me, one that made us a family, John and I first-time parents, and more grace to be given than I ever knew imaginable. When the ball dropped this year, we were all sound asleep. Well, I wasn't sleeping, I was wide awake in bed going back down memory lane looking at photos from the year. Honestly, New Year's Eve was nothing crazy. It could have been any old weekday, but it was meaningful to us: no frills, no sparkle dress or high heels, just me and my two guys in party hats, and a bottle of champagne by the fire.
Let's talk about a few things as this winter is quickly setting in across the country. First I can't get enough of our fireplace and second I love fireplaces! When it comes to staying toasty warm in our house, we love heading to Home Depot for all of our accessories and cold weather essentials.
